Certified Kitchen in rural East Maui

KIPAHULU KITCHEN

Kipahulu Kitchen is a shared-use certified commercial kitchen, operated by Kīpahulu ‘Ohana

The certified kitchen is used for processing poi with kalo harvested from Kapahu Living Farm, while also used for other value-added processors and lunch wagon vendors in East Maui in order for them to meet Department of Health requirements.

We are currently at kitchen vendor capacity.

Kalena Center and Kipahulu Kitchen are completely off the grid, powered by solar energy, with satellite Internet, and a composting toilet.

Supporting Local Farmers: By purchasing food directly from local farmers, consumers provide a direct market for their produce, helping them sustain their livelihoods and encouraging small-scale farming practices. This support strengthens rural communities and fosters economic resilience.
